Online
Online wallets are in reality more like Bitcoin “banks.” They allow you to store your bitcoins on their site, but you don’t have full control over them as you would with a wallet on your device. The benefit of online wallets is that they are the fastest and easiest way to obtain bitcoins: all you do is link your bank account information, and they will allow you to buy and sell bitcoins through their site.

Paper Wallet/Cold Storage
Paper wallets are the most secure way to store your bitcoins, but are usually only used for long-term storage, as bitcoins stored on a paper wallet cannot be easily sent. Creating a paper wallet involves the manual generation of a public/private key pair, which must be done properly or the key pair could be insecure. The website below will securely create a public/private key pair for you. A hardware wallet (see above) is recommended for large amounts of bitcoins if you need to access your bitcoins frequently.
