For my undergraduate studies, I majored in Systems Analysis with a concentration in Economics. I almost decided to switch my major to Economics my junior year because I enjoyed those classes so much, but I was far enough along I didn’t want to delay my graduation.
This is to say that I am fascinated by both technology and economics. So it shouldn’t be surprising that I am really fascinated by Bitcoin, the electronic payment system and currency that has the potential to have a huge impact, both technologically and economically, on the world.
Unfortunately, a lot of writing on Bitcoin has been amateurish and ill-informed. I have often wished for a higher level of discussion of the impact Bitcoin can make on the worlds of technology and finance. Now it appears my wish will come true: soon there will be a Bitcoin-themed peer-reviewed academic journal, called Ledger. I can’t wait until it is published!
