When things get too deep, people drown

I’ve never been a big fan of “sharing” small groups, so I thought this was pretty funny:

  1. OH MY GOSH I’m laughing so hard – as a former Evangelical now Catholic – yes thats funny. Actually had someone at our last parish who thought we should start small groups….she asked me and I’m afraid I replied something to the effect of NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! and ran away.

  2. As another former evangelical, this is spot-on! They like to avoid theology, because there are so many “opinions” on things, they can’t discuss anything without conflict in the group, so in the spirit of Christian “unity” they keep it shallow. And, if one were to bring up REAL theology, they would label it devisive, unkind, and intolerant, and you would be deleted from the email distribution list for the next gathering.

  3. Church started out this small way and if it was good enough for them it’s good enough for me. Christ unites people . If it’s Christ centers then it will work
