Let’s share
One of my old pastors would describe CCD in the 1970′s this way: “we were taught two things: be nice and don’t do drugs.” I thought of that when I saw this hilarious video:

Excellent!
I loved that video! I finished college in 1970 and entered the teaching profession shortly thereafter, beginning at a Catholic School. It had been about 10 years since I had been a student in a Catholic elementary school. Now I was a teacher. The religion textbook, I noticed was very different from the catechism I had studied. I observed weak content throughout, so I filled in with what I knew from memory. I think the children who had me for a teacher were not shortchanged.
On the positive side, there was a feature of the new textbooks that worked well. At the end of each chapter was a paraliturgy or what today we might call a liturgy of the Word service. This had not been part of my early catechesis so I was tentative about trying it. But I did, and it worked beautifully with the children. I was amazed at their reverence and sensed God’s presence.
Hilarious. A guilty pleasure. As a mediator I look forward to the challenge of soothing emotions after I share this one. :>)
