An injustice crying to heaven

What injustice, you say? The fact that all four MLB teams left in the playoffs have payrolls of at least $100 million. Looks like you just buy a World Series title these days.

(Yes, I am from small-market Cincinnati and haven’t seen my beloved Reds in the playoffs since 1995, so excuse me if I’m a bit cranky. And the fact that I now live in a large-market [Washington, DC] which has a small-market payroll doesn’t help either.)

Baseball

  1. Beautiful redesign, Eric! And as an Indians fan, I feel your baseball pain.

  2. As a fan of one of the higher payroll teams (Red Sox), I believe that baseball desperately needs a salary cap. It also boggles my mind why the NFL is ready to drop their policy next year; do they think they have too much success as a league?

On a different note, I am an ecumenically minded Orthodox who has recently discovered your blog. Keep up the good posting!

  3. David,

If a Red Sox fan can be for a salary cap, then I have hope that anything can happen – even the eventual reunion of our Churches!
